Hey there! Thanks for your interest in the Juno Bassinet. From the beginning, we wanted to create a healthier product for our kids that would be better for the planet. So, when we set out to design it, we drew inspiration from Dieter Rams' approach of good design that is "Less, but better". We challenged ourselves to find simple, more natural materials while offering the best possible solution for active parents who value functional, sustainable products.
Natural:
Our mattress had to be the very best for our baby, so we proudly partnered with Bundle of Dreams to exclusively offer a bassinet version of their well-loved crib mattresses. In a sea of vinyl-covered sleeping pads sold with most infant sleepers, we are truly one of a kind. It features a certified Organic cotton zippered bassinet sheet that is hypoallergenic, water repellent, and machine washable. The Sheet acts as both cover and fitted sheet which gives parents greater flexibility on how to clean it, whether that’s a quick wipe down or wash. It fits safely and snugly with the pad and the simplification to just one all-around premium sheet means reducing the unnecessary.
Breathable:
The foam of the sleeping pad is made of Bundle Fiber™ which allows air to pass directly through it to help regulate baby’s body temperature to maintain a more comfortable and stable sleep. We compliment the breathable sleeping pad with a patent-pending bassinet design that features holes in the sleeping platform to enable greater air circulation. Baby is positioned in an elevated position, secured by safe, solid walls, high enough that they are conveniently within reach and view from bed.
Portable:
We designed the Juno Bassinet to go wherever parents need it to go. It is lightweight yet durable and can be set up in less than 30 seconds. This portability was created to solve a pain point we felt as new parents: our baby wasn't sleeping in any of the options we'd brought into our home! It felt like Goldilocks and the 3 bears. Our pack and play - too big. The crib - too far. The bassinet - too heavy and complex to move. We wanted a bassinet that could be taken anywhere in the home, between rooms and floors so that baby can always sleep safely nearby. We included a travel box so that parents can just as easily travel with it to visit family, friends, or have a babycation.
Strong:
We chose corrugated paperboard for the Bassinet because it is strong (meets industries strictest standards), lightweight (goes anywhere!), and natural (essentially wood pulp and starch). Unlike many of the plastic, off-gassing bassinets on the market, we went to great lengths to create a custom material that we stand behind. The paperboard has a bio-degradable water repellent coating applied to it twice so that it can hold up to #babylife. It is sustainably certified (SFI) and made right here in Washington State. At the end of the day, we (and our babies) sleep easy knowing that we’ve created a safe sleeping environment out of a fully-recyclable, renewable material that can become something else in the future.
